Installation: AUT – South Campus Specifier: Jasmax Installer: Flooring Junction Product: Aerial Smoke & Aerial Ink The 11,000m2 Mana Hauora (MH) Building is the first major development at AUT’s South Campus in Manukau, South Auckland. AUT South’s objective of expanding university participation directly supports government policy goals in regard to social and economic development as well as education goals in regard to Maori, Pasifika, and youth. The building’s concept commenced with all consultants workshopping in an integrated design process to identify design features that would add value on multiple sustainability and aspirational fronts. Raised access floors form an air plenum and services reticulation zone, significantly increasing the adaptability of interior spaces while also providing an ultra-low energy displacement ventilation system. With sustainability and students being core elements of the design, Jasmax quickly spoke to Inzide Commercial to look at what Interface carpet tile options were available. Interface leads the way with its sustainability credentials. Combine this with Interface’s dye batch mergeable patterned carpet tile which has the best appearance retention in the industry irrespective of how many v’s, mince pies and coffee spills get walked into it. Having been involved with AUT’s Sir Paul Reeves Building and the design direction taken there, Inzide was able to show a complimentary yet unique product in its own right, AERIAL carpet tile. The tones of charcoal are still at play as is the dye batch mergeable random pattern to ensure longevity. Add to this design capability, Interface’s 20 year education fwarranty (including castor chairs), life-time anti-microbial built into the product itself and excellent appearance retention qualities and it was an easy decision for Jasmax to partner with Inzide to find the right Interface product. |
