Installation: CDHB Whakatata House
Installer: The Flooring Centre
Whakatata House is one of the few large wooden built structures left standing in Christchurch, post-earthquakes.
As such the CDHB made a call to ensure that the building was saved due to both its heritage value but more importantly its need in the community. Whakatata house is used to help children with learning disabilities. It is a very necessary resource and needed to be both earthquake strengthened and refurbished.
Flooring wise they needed a product that would handle significant wear but also provide a warm and homely look. The solution was pretty easy – Interface carpet tilesupplied by INZIDE Commercial. Interface’s carpet tile range is huge and with various size formats [50cm X 50cm, 1m X 1m and 25cm X 1m Plank], wonderful texture mixes and exciting colours moving from neon bright to deep black with lots of Natural tones.
Aiki was the chosen product after CDHB’s exhaustive quality control process. 15 year NZ backed warrantiesincluding for under castor chairs, no sun fade and strong resistance to soiling and harsh cleaning chemicals. Add in the life-time anti-microbial and the CDHB had a flooring solution that is fit for purpose. A great result all around.
