NZPC Reset25, Driving Real Change in Property through ESG

Last week, Inzide was proud to sponsor and attend Reset25, New Zealand’s only ESG summit purpose built for the property sector. Hosted by the Property Council New Zealand, this one day event brought together over 20 expert speakers and a highly engaged audience of developers, investors, consultants and thought leaders, all focused on the future of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy.

Reset25 made it clear, ESG is no longer a box to tick, it’s a strategic imperative. With regulatory pressure mounting and public expectations rising, the property industry must move fast to embed ESG across planning, development and investment. From carbon to culture, the summit challenged attendees to rethink how we build, invest and operate in a way that drives long term value and resilience.

Among the standout speakers was Meghana Gaddam, a University of Auckland economics and property student, who spoke passionately about the evolving expectations of young professionals. She explored what future focused workplaces look like, with diversity, flexibility and purpose driven values emerging as non-negotiables.

We also heard from Dr Rod Carr, New Zealand’s Climate Change Commissioner, delivered a powerful keynote on the state of our national climate response. While acknowledging progress in areas like renewable energy, he didn’t shy away from highlighting the urgent gaps. His message was clear: “Are we doing enough? Probably not, but we still can.”

Finally, Inzide’s own Steve Aschebrock brought a business owner’s perspective to the conversation, speaking about the importance of backing up ESG commitments with real action. He reflected on Inzide’s 25 year journey of delivering low and carbon-neutral products, not because it was trendy, but because it was the right thing to do. Steve emphasised the need to support industries and suppliers who have been doing the work long before it became a regulatory requirement.

He also shared how Inzide’s long standing commitment is underpinned by Toitū’s CarbonZero certification, ensuring that every emission is measured, managed and fully offset. It’s not just about compliance, it’s about leadership, integrity, and building a better future through responsible business.
