Libraries have moved from being repositories of books to complete community hubs.

Invercargill library sits in the heart of Invercargill with coffee shops, hairdressers, gyms and many other assorted retail all around it.

The call from the Council was to make a bold statement with the library. Also ensure that community events could be held there and encourage all levels of learning and expression.
