55 Corinthian Drive is a striking new building from Ignite Architects in the heart of Albany's fastest growing commercial business hub. Situated in close proximity to Westfield Albany shopping centre, Massey University, and the Albany Park and Ride, the area is a great draw card for employees and employers alike. This 5 Star Greenstar, 4 level building faces out over the Northern Motorway and is hard to miss with a striking yellow facade to the standalone carpark building located directly behind it.
BNZ now occupy the top two floors with Unispace creating the interior fitout.
With a focus on Greenstar and carbon coming through strongly in new builds we are seeing a more considered approach to material selection which is a step in the right direction to achieving our carbon emission targets for 2030 as a country.
With the built environment contributing approximately 20% of NZ's total carbon emissions, it is an issue that rests in a large part, on our industry to address.
Sure there isn't a simple answer to it all but there are ways to start having a positive impact on our carbon figures right now. It can be as simple as choosing one brand over another.
When you choose Interface flooring, you’re on the path to a more sustainable space. You’re choosing to reduce the carbon footprint of your space and help improve the health of the planet. The teams at Unispace and BNZ acknowledge and understand this and it is why they are great supporters of Interface who are on a continuous journey to improve their products for the betterment of our world.
Since 2018 all Interface flooring products including carpet tile, LVT and now nora®; rubber are carbon neutral across their full product life cycle through the third party verified Carbon Neutral Floors™ program.
This is achieved through a combination of reducing manufacturing emissions by more than 60% over many, many years of investment in better processes, materials and technology and then offsetting the unavoidable carbon cost for the lifecycle of their products.
By specifying Interface carbon neutral carpet tile at 55 Corinthian Drive, BNZ & Unispace have avoided the equivalent carbon emissions of a standard petrol car traveling more than the circumference of the Earth from entering our Biosphere.
Congratulations BNZ & Unispace on having a positive impact on our world in this way.
