"One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul" - Clarissa Pinkola Estes
As a media company, AGM relies on two things.
Firstly, a highly engaged and active readership of architects, designers, and consumers that all have a huge influence on the purchasing and specifying of products and services.
Secondly, they rely on their advertisers. Companies that need to reach AGM's audience via a relevant, targeted platform their readers want, value, trust and spend quality time reading and consuming.
With the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown measures hitting businesses, much of this advertising support evaporated, not all, but a large percentage. This was not a situation unique to AGM. Globally, many advertisers and brands are hunkering down, retreating and pulling their media spend, wherever they can. This has meant that AGM have made decisions that before the lockdown would have seemed unthinkable. AGM have had to say goodbye to Urbis, Houses and Interior magazines. All have had their last issues published and, although there is hope they can bring these brands back at some stage in the future, this will be determined by the market and what the COVID-19 recovery looks like.
"I want to thank you all for your support of Urbis, Interior and Houses magazines and our associated events. I am immensely proud of the portfolio we have published over the years, the support and exposure these platforms have allowed us to give to the design community and particularly the team that has worked tirelessly to create them." - Nathan Inkpen, Publisher for AGM. INZIDE echoes Nathan’s comments. Know that we maintained our advertising spend with AGM and were vocal in our support of maintaining INTERIOR magazine, the pre-eminent vehicle for showcasing the talent of NZ’s very capable interior design community. Interior has now been absorbed into ArchitectureNZ where we continue to advertise and showcase NZ’s interior design talent. Not only do we support AGM through Interior magazine but also through the Interior awards – NZ’s pre-eminent interior design awards night. INZIDE exists because of the support we get from the spatial design community. Know that we will continue to support you back by continuing to support great media that showcases your talented work whenever we can.
